Awien is a young woman who was stolen from her village as a girl and taken to the north of Sudan to live a mistreated life as a slave. She escaped, and is now free and back in her homeland. In this story, she shares the joys, sorrows and struggles of her new life. I was the cinematographer, interviewer, writer and editor for this piece.
