Description: Wong Kim Ark (ca. 1873-unknown)nn1882 saw passage of the first of a series of “Chinese Exclusion Acts,” which prohibited Chinese immigrants (and later several other Asian nationalities) from becoming US citizens. It also prohibited Chinese immigrants classed as “laborers” from even entering the US.
